The Problem With Dating A White Boy
My boyfriend doesn’t understand why I don’t trust the cops. And like, I understand why he trusts them; He grew up in a military family and was taught to trust authority, he’s a white male and has never had a bad interaction with a cop, and anyone in his family who has had a bad interaction with a cop or was arrested was doing something illegal. He doesn’t get that that in itself is a luxury. That the fact that they were just being held responsible for breaking the law is the only police interaction they’ve had is a luxury.
